Straight outta Philly!
The Roots Picnic Philly returns for their 11th year in Philadelphia at The Mann (previously at Penn’s Landing). With 3 stages and a lineup that included, music, djays and podcast artists.
This year, similarly set up like Afropunk, there were 3 different stages that were ready to show out with a mix of new and old. Some of my faves like H.E.R., Davido, Ari Lennox and of course The Roots who closed out the picnic took the Fairmount Park Stage. The Mann Stage blessed us with Raphael Saadiq, Black Thought & J.Period ft. Yasiin Bey! And beyond the music were the Guys Next Door and The Joe Budden Podcasts took center stage as well. While the park was lined with sponsors that included Monster Energy, Ketel One, Patron, Cricket Wireless and vendors that ranged from food/drinks to products.
This year was certainly an experience to be had. If you missed the event make sure you check out the photos below of some of the great moments. Or better yet attend the Roots Picnic Philly next summer.
