Over the last few years in working from home I’ve learned a thing or two from tools to keep me productive to tips for working at home. With that, I’ve been able to set up a workspace with my essential work from home office accessories and decor that encourages creativity and focus. My list of essential home office accessories keeps me comfortable and working.
My Essential Work From Home Office Accessories
Computer
Usually one of the first purchases made for working from home whether you have your space ready or not. My go-to is a laptop for you it may be a desktop and someone else an ultrawide. Whatever your choice your selection needs to be up to the job especially space and speed.
Office Desk
The perfect office desk for my space is one that is sleep, compact, and adjustable if possible. A compact desk for intimate spaces so the area isn’t all desk only. I like variety and having an adjustable desk allows for those days I want to stand or move around while working.
Ergonomic Office Chair
An adjustable ergonomic chair is a body lifesaver! Designed to give your body the best support while you’re sitting and working for long hours.
Adjustable Computer Stand
Another product that is made to save your body. Computer stands help bring your computer to eye level to help reduce strain on your eyes, neck, and shoulders.
Ergonomic keyboard + Mouse
Going cordless can grant you easier access to your laptop while working in any position.
Noise Cancelling headphones
A must!! Drowns out the unnecessary noise from construction and extra guests in the house well you’re working.
Water Bottle
Stay hydrated with a bottle that keeps you on track.
Desk Planner
Sometimes you just need a pen and paper. A desk planner also helps you see your month at large, plan out major events, appointments, and deadlines. With a sidebar note section, see the past, the current month, future all at once.
Desk Lamp
Your workspace needs lots and lots of good light to keep you focused throughout your workday. Natural light is always my first suggestion but realistically that’s not always possible. If your workspace is short on natural light or for working late isn’t optional a good desk lamp is a must.
Storage
Organization is key, at home, at work, and in general. Having an effective organizational system is always a process and that’s no different when working at home. One storage issue that WFH has in space so having a solution prior is important. For this, I recommend compact and multipurpose storage and organization. Like desk trays that can be concealed under the desk or draw erase desk organizer, desk shelving that can double as filing baskets. Look for storage options that can double up on function.
Charging Station
Centralized power bank for all your portable tech items.
Surge Protector
Minimize excess cords while protecting your tech. Surge protector not only creates access to multiple outlets in a central location but also protects against voltage spikes.
Ergonomic Body Support
From sitting all day to the stress that our bodies undergo daily can wreak havoc on us so we must support our bodies the best we can. If an ergonomic chair is out of the question right now enlist the help of a lumbar pillow, seat cushion (gel), or footrest.
Glasses
Staring at the screen all day every day for work and personal can strain your eyes. These glasses use filtered lenses and protect the eyes.
Keyboard Cleaner
This is simple, keep your tech clean from dust, crumbs, and hair at any time. This little guy has become one of my fave home office accessories.
